An NFA Trust is a good place to register your NFA items such as suppressors, or short barreled rifles. The benefits of a Trust vs a Tax Stamp is that individuals listed on the Trust can be in legal possession. If you had a suppressor on a Tax Stamp you could not legally loan it to your buddy to go hog hunting. However if the suppressor was in a Trust, add your buddy to the Trust and they can be in legal possession. You still have to pay the NFA Tax of $200. Keep in mind if you opt for a Tax Stamp instead of a Trust and decide later to put it in a Trust it's ANOTHER $200 to transfer it to the Trust. Anyone listed on the Trust at the time an NFA item is added must submit fingerprints and photographs.
LEMS offers a Trust service for $90 which will included a Word document that has fillable fields to keep your Trust clean.
