LEMS offers a number of civilian firearms training courses. Each course is taught by a Certified Firearms Instructor and in many cases current or retired Georgia Law Enforcement. Each Phase of training builds on the foundation of safe and responsible firearms ownership. If you don't own a pistol and are thinking about purchasing one or have a pistol and would like to become more proficient these classes are for you. Phase 1 is an introduction to firearms safety and the foundation to responsible pistol ownership. Topics covered will include Georgia Law, self-defense, purchasing a firearm for carry, and the fundamentals of pistol shooting. The first half of the day will be classroom followed by live fire range exercises after lunch. Individuals who do not own a handgun and are looking to borrow one please indicate in the form below so we can make arrangements. Phase 1 is a full 8-hour day of training.
REQUIREMENTS
- 18 years of age or older
- No Felony or Domestic Violence Convictions
- An UNLOADED handgun in good order in the following calibers
- 9mm
- .380 Auto
- 40 S&W
- 45 ACP
- .38 Special / .357
- 22 LR
- 100 Rounds of practice ammo
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- Note taking material
- Class will be limited to 25 Students
