Please be aware that the "Shop with a Cop" and "Firefighter Drive" events are designed exclusively for children residing in Atkinson County. These special events aim to provide a meaningful experience for local youth, fostering connections with law enforcement and firefighting professionals in our community.
If you have a child who is not currently enrolled in school, you are still encouraged to include their name on the registration form. However, please note that only children who are capable of riding a school bus will be selected to join in on this exciting trip. This ensures that all participants can travel safely and comfortably to the event.
Please mark December 12, 2024, as an important date for the upcoming event featuring Cookies with Santa. This gathering will be held at the Willacoochee Fire Department, providing attendees with a warm and inviting atmosphere enhanced with festive decorations.
This event presents a valuable opportunity for children to engage with Santa Claus, allowing them to share their holiday wishes while enjoying a selection of freshly baked cookies. Additionally, children will have the chance to interact with representatives from the Willacoochee Police Department and the Atkinson County Fire Department, who will be present to foster a sense of community and safety.
We encourage families and individuals to join us in celebrating the spirit of the season and to participate in the various activities planned for this occasion. We look forward to your presence at this community-oriented event.
We are pleased to announce the Second Annual "Shop with a Cop & Firefighter" event, which is scheduled to take place on December 14, 2024. Selected children will receive prior notification regarding their participation. On the specified date, parents and children are requested to assemble at Willacoochee City Hall at 8:00 AM. At that time, the children will be transported by school bus to Walmart in Douglas, Georgia.
Due to limited resources, we cannot guarantee that your family will receive assistance. YOU WILL NOT BE CONTACTED UNLESS YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN HAVE BEEN SELECTED.
Each child will receive a pre-determined amount on a gift card for his/her day of shopping. Shopping must be done at the appointed time. Each child’s parent or guardian will be required to pay the difference at the register if they exceed the amount of the gift card given to the child. Parent or guardian participation is a must.
